If I remember it correctly, the gear is Php 60...

The guide said that they clean the gears, but I'm not sure. Hehe! So, if you want to snorkel, you may want to bring your own gear. =)

If I can swim, and if the vest fits me well, I'd let go of the ropes.. But unfortunately, I can't swim and the vest is somehow loose. Haha!

Oh! We also bought bread for the fishes! =D

Where we stayed. It's an apartment building near d*mall and of course, the beach =).

The rate of the room is Php 1,500/ night for 3 persons during non-peak season, and Php 2,000/ night for 3 persons during peak season (December-May). Additional Php 300 each for additional occupants.

We visited the plaza on our first night. The whole place was full of Christmas lights! And there were a lot of people. =)

There were so many marching bands practicing for the Ati-Atihan! They actually made the plaza more lively. It was noisy but it was fun!

It was sad I will not be able to go to the Ati-atihan festival because I have classes. But maybe in the future! =)

UCCP Ladies' Dorm held an early Christmas party last December 6, 2011. The party started at around 7:30 in the evening. We first had our Praise and Worship, then welcoming remarks from our pastor, followed by a very inspirational message from our guest speaker, and then finally dinner! =) While having our dinner, we had raffle and exchanging of gifts. We also had games and mini presentation from the dormers. =)

It was a fun party! I was able to rest, even for a short while, from the ever stressing school works. =)

Another Start

How are you? I hope you're doing fine.

School started last Friday, and unfortunately two of my subjects got dissolved, so next week I'll have to process those. =/

Second semester. Hmmmmm. I hope I'll have a good one, though my subjects, I think, require a lot of memorization and analysis.

Oh well! Let's see what'll happen. =)

This is what I wore when my college friends and I went to Siniloan, Laguna last November 9. =)

We held a short lecture regarding the 10 medicinal plants (approved by the Department of Health) to high school students. I was actually over-dressed as compared to my colleagues. But whatever! I love dressing up! =D

Outing: Water Camp

My college friends and I had our outing at Water Camp. We met up at SM Bacoor, stayed at our house for a while to have some snacks and then headed to our destination. =)

The whole outing wasn't well-planned and I was informed late. It was unbelievable that everything was pushed-through. =)

How are you?

I went to SM Bacoor a while ago to shop for a 'business attire'. =) I looked around the Department Store and bought a black long-sleeved button down. Still no pants though, but I'm thinking of pairing my top with a tan/ khaki wide-legged or straight cut pants. =)

I didn't realize that SM Dept. Store has a lot of fashionable pieces until earlier this afternoon. Haha! I must shop there again! Probably this October 14-16, because they (SM Bacoor) will be having their 3-day sale. Haha! (I hope I'll have money by that time!)

Anyway, here are my reading list for the sem break! I already have copies of those. =)

Week's Hauls and Stuffs

I went to the 32nd Manila International Book Fair last Sunday afternoon. I bought my mom a Bible from the Philippine Bible Society for only 300 pesos. =) I was tempted to buy another one but I already have my Bible, so maybe next year na lang. Hehe! =)

And since MOA was also having their last day of sale, I decided to "look" around. I wanted to have my retail therapy since I was very stressed last week (exams!) , but there were a LOT of people, so I wasn't able to. Plus, I was wearing the wrong flats. My feet hurt! =(

Hello there folks!

It has been a busy, yet fun August for me- school stuffs, organization duties but fun, crazy friends! =)

Last Saturday, we, PROPharm (a UP CP student-based organization), held our anniversary party at Adriatico Tower 2. It was raining hard, complete with strong winds, so we ate and had games at the Function Room. Everyone was very cooperative (and competitive). It was a very fun party!

Then, we had our "after-party" at my friend's place. We had drinks, ate again (eating is fun!), and played games. It was crazy! =D We finished at 2 in the morning to think that we will have an outreach program at 7 AM. Haha!

Sunday, we had our outreach program. It was a nice experience- to be able to bring joy to the kids. =) I'd like to be a part of an outreach program again. =)

Earlier this morning, I visited my dermatologist. I had a glycolic acid peel and a facial. And so yes, my face hurts, but it's okay. =)

Anyway, we will have a four-day break because of National Heroes Day (August 29) and the end of Ramadan (August 30). Yey! Yey! Yey! I'll have more time to rest. =D

I will also visit my dermatologist to have a Glycolic Acid Peel on Saturday. My face depicts stress; it's like a pimple factory! Agggghhhh!!! And on Sunday, PROPharm will have an outreach program. =D

Anyway, how are you guys? Me, I'm not feeling well. I have a cough and it's already been one week. I took Ascof 60 mL but I'm still not well. My roommate, who is a physician, told me to take Ambroxol 30 mg. Sadly, I still "bark". I already found blood on my phlegm; maybe because I'm coughing really hard.

If this didn't cease after three days, I'll pay UP-PGH Health Service a visit.

I read from The Purpose Driven Life that life is a test. Everyday there are challenges, trials and choices that we need to face and solve. Everyday God is testing us. He “continually tests people’s character, faith, obedience, love, integrity, and loyalty (The Purpose Driven Life).” Even our thoughts, our conversations with friends and our little actions are being watched.

School concerns, financial problems, relationship issues, career choices- these are some of the “big tests” one may be given with. But no matter how hard our test might be, we must not give up. We must try our best to choose what God wants us to choose, to act according to His will. How? By praying and reading the Bible. Pray and read the Bible, you will surely know what to do.

And we must ALWAYS remember that God will never give us trials we cannot overcome.

"God keeps his promise, and he will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, he will give you strength to endure it, and provide you with a way out."

Hello there folks!

How's life?

Classes will start soon! Ours will start on June 14. I'm not yet ready though. =/ How about you guys? When will yours start? And are you ready to face new challenges? =D

Anyway, since internship ate my summer vacation, I spent most of my free days at home reading eBooks. I read Vampire Diaries: The Awakening, The Struggle, The Fury and The Return: Nightfall. I skipped The Dark Reunion because I find it boring. =/ I also read Erich Segal's Love Story, Jo Leigh's Going For It, Alexandra Potter's You're the One I Don't Want, Random Acts of Heroic Love, Cecilia Ahern's If You Could See Me Now, Nicholas Sparks' Safe Haven and Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat, Pray, Love. I personally love Random Acts of Heroic Love because it somehow teaches the reader how to move on with life and how things can be achieved if only one is determined. And if you're into the 'war' genre, i.e. World War 2 and the like, you'll enjoy reading this book. I also love Eat Pray Love. Reading this book made me want to go to Italy and eat, eat, eat. And of course, I enjoyed Safe Haven too because it was Nicholas Sparks'. That's enough reason. =)

Currently, I'm reading Cecilia Ahern's There's No Place Like Here. =)

First is the Jellies gloss tints in Strawberry Milkshake. I bought this from a Tupperware dealer. If I remember it correctly, this costs 79 pesos. I know, cheap! And it smells great! =)

I also bought St. Ives Apricot Scrub and Kojie San Soap. I've been reading good reviews about this soap, so I gave it a try. =)

Week 3 in Batangas

Thursday: We had a demonstration of Lagundi Syrup and Garlic Oil. They were hits to the BHWs and the midwife. =) Friday: The whole batch 2 had exit report at the Staff House then after that, we headed to Dreamland Resort, Brgy. Janao-Janao for our outing. We stayed overnight and the following day, before heading back to Manila, we went to the mangrove trail in Brgy. Pinagbayanan. =)

During the second week, we re-organized the herbal garden, had a house to house visit to present the Ten Medicinal Plants approved by the Department of Health, and conducted lecture regarding Rational Drug Use. During our free time, we did our Giant Pop-Up Book of 10 Medicinal Plants.

It was a hectic week but it was fun! =D

San Juan, Batangas Internship

Hello folks!

Here are some pictures from our 1st week of stay in San Juan, Batangas.

My house mates and I stayed in Brgy. Talahiban 2.0 at Tatay Nestor's house.

First week activities: We visited our barangay captain, Capt. Mendoza and she introduced us to some counselors and health workers. We toured the whole barangay and helped clean the place. =)

Next week, we will do herbal gardening and conduct lectures. In between, we will do our Halamang Gamot Pop-up Book... =) It'll be a busy, but I'm sure fun, week! =D

How's Summer?

So, how's your summer so far? Are you enjoying it? =)

My April's all about drugstore internship. This May we're going to San Juan, Batangas for our field internship. We're going to stay in our assigned barangay for three weeks and teach them stuffs about 10 Halamang Gamot and how to formulate pharmaceutical products using cheap, locally available materials or ingredients. =)

I still don't know who my housemates are. Even the barangay assignments are still not given to us. I just hope everything will turn out okay and fun! =)

In your life, you’ll make note of a lot of people. Ones with whom you shared something special, ones who will always mean something. There’s the one you first kissed, the one you first loved, the one you lost your virginity to, the one you put on a pedestal, the one you’re with …and the one that got away.

Who is the one that got away?

I guess it’s that person with who everything was great, everything was perfect, but the timing was just wrong. There was no fault in the person, there was no flaw in the chemistry, but the cards just didn’t fall the right way, I suppose. I believe in the fact that ending up with someone, finding a long time partner that is, does not lie merely in the other person. I can actually argue that an equal part, or maybe even the greater part, has to do with the matter of timing.

It has to do with you being ready to settle down and commit to someone in a way that goes beyond the little niceties of giddy romance. How often have you gone through it without even realizing it? When you’re not ready to commit in that mature manner, it doesn’t matter who you’re with, it just doesn’t work. Small problems become big; inconsequential become deal breakers simply because you’re not ready and it shows. It’s not that you and the person you’re with are no good; it’s just that it’s not yet right, and little things become the flashpoint of that fact.

Then one day you’re ready. You really are. And when this happens you’ll be ready to settle down with someone. He or she may not be perfect, they might not be the brightest star of romance to ever have burned in your life, but it’ll work because you’re ready. It’ll work because it’s the right time and you’ll make it work. And it’ll make sense, it really will. The day comes when you’re finally making sense of things, and you find yourself to be a different person. Things are different, your approach is different, you finally understand who you are and what you want and you’ve become ready because the time has truly arrived. And mind you, there’s no telling when this day will come.

Hopefully you’re single… but you could be in a long-term relationship, you could be married with three kids, it doesn’t matter. All you know is that you’ve changed, and for some reason, the one that got away, is the first person you think about. You’ll think about them because you’ll wonder, "What if they were here today?" You’ll wonder, "What if we were together now, with me as I am and not as I was?

"That’s what the one that got away is. The biggest "What if?" you’ll have in your life.

If you’re married, you’ll just have to accept the fact that the one that got away, got away. Believe me, no matter how fairy tale you think your marriage is, this can happen to the best of us. But hopefully you’re mature enough to realize that if you’re already with the one you’re with, that this is just another test of your commitment, one which will just strengthen your marriage when you get past it. Sure, you’ll think about him/her every so often, but it’s alright. It’s never nice to live with a "might have been," but it happens.

Maybe the one that got away is the one who’s already married. In which case it’s the same thing. You just have to accept and know that your memories of that person will probably bring a nice little smile to your lips in the future when you’re old and gray and reminiscing.

But if neither of that is the case, then it’s different. What do you do if it’s not yet too late? Simple… find him, find her. Because the very existence of a "one that got away" means that you’ll always wonder, what if you got that one? Ask him out to coffee; ask her out to a movie, it doesn’t matter if you’ve dropped in from out of nowhere. You’d be surprised, you just might be "the one that got away" as well for the person who is your "the one that got away." You might drop in from out of nowhere and it won’t make a difference.

If the timing is finally right, it’ll all just fall into place somehow. And it would be a great feeling, if in the end, you’d be able to say to someone, "Hey you, you’re the one that almost got away."

We had some drinks (I only had one XD) at K-Space and then some of us went to Banchetto. =)

So far I'm having a productive day- I went to the National Library earlier to research about my report and to study for my exam on Saturday (I'm not yet done though.) Hehe! =D Went back to dorm to eat my lunch then headed to SM Manila... I wasn't really supposed to buy anything, but me being me... I stopped by Broadway Gems, Etude House and National Bookstore... =)

Right now, I'm still studying... and net surfing!!!

This post is worth reading especially for those who are having a hard time leaving their past... =)

One always has to know when a stage comes to an end. If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through.

Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters – whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.

Did you lose your job? Has a loving relationship come to an end? Did you leave your parents’ house? Gone to live abroad? Has a long-lasting friendship ended all of a sudden? You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened.

You can tell yourself you won’t take another step until you find out why certain things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that. But such an attitude will be awfully stressing for everyone involved: your parents, your husband or wife, your friends, your children, your sister.
Everyone is finishing chapters, turning over new leaves, getting on with life, and they will all feel bad seeing you at a standstill.

Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them really go away.

That is why it is so important (however painful it may be!) to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate the books you have at home.

Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our hearts – and getting rid of certain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place.

Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them.

Nobody plays this life with marked cards, so sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Do not expect anything in return, do not expect your efforts to be appreciated, your genius to be discovered, your love to be understood.

Stop turning on your emotional television to watch the same program over and over again, the one that shows how much you suffered from a certain loss: that is only poisoning you, nothing else.

Nothing is more dangerous than not accepting love relationships that are broken off, work that is promised but there is no starting date, decisions that are always put off waiting for the “ideal moment.”

Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what has passed will never come back.

I also used cork board and pins... I'm thinking of adding a little bit of design, like ribbons and other embellishments. What do you think? =)

Hello there folks! Finally, it's our Christmas break! Woohoo!!! =D I'll have more time reading blogs... =)

Anyway, yesterday was UP Manila's Lantern Parade- and it was super fun!!! We yelled, we ran, we jumped- everybody was full of energy as we paraded our lanterns. And guess what?....... Our (College of Pharmacy) lantern won first place! Yeah! Yeah! =D Thanks to batch '07 who worked really hard. =)

PROPharm's J-Alert

Hello there firends! =D I miss the blogging world!

Last Wednesday, the PROPharmers dressed like "jologs" to promote our upcoming quiz bee/ game show entitled J-Alert. We conducted a room-to-room campaign to advertise the event and also the other events of the organization (Landi Mo, Padala Ko; Toy Drive; PROBlood).

PROPharm Leadership Training Seminar

Last November 29, PROPharm, a student-based organization of the UP Manila College of Pharmacy, held its leadership training seminar at La Mesa Ecopark. The day was filled with fun activities, delicious food, beautiful sceneries, and informative, encouraging talks from our guest speakers.

After the seminar, my college friends and I went to Noel Bazaar... =D
